Value area

The value area is defined as that price interval that contains 70% of the days trading volume . To calculate value area, TPA uses the alternative definition computed on the basis of TPOs rather than volume. In this procedure, the value area is defined as that price interval surrounding the longest TPO line in a Market Profile graphic that encompasses 70% of the TPO counts.
