The search shown above yielded 296 days in which the market opened <J> period higher than the current days midpoint. Refining the search, we found that over 72% of the time the market closed above the midpoint price under these circumstances. By examining those days in which the market did not close higher than the midpoint, we can see that trading below the midpoint often served as a target price for market liquidation.
