Date range

         Use the Date range question to look at data for a specific range of dates. This question can be used with other questions to check for seasonal patterns, or on its own to select out a particular period of time.

Example:

         The average trading range for all of 1992.

Questions from Traders:

         What is the average trading range for a given period of time? How does it compare to the average range for the entire database?

Setting Up the Search:

Click on the parts of the box below where appears for explanations of features.

Answers:

         Use the question shown above to find all days in 1992. Then, use the Details button in the Search Results window to give you a quick summary of the statistical characteristics of all these days including, in particular, the range.

Profile Analyzer Hint: For most purposes, the scroll bars in the Analysis window do the same thing as the Date range question. However, if you need to save the range of days to which a question applies as part of a custom question , then use a Date range question instead.
